Project Description

The aim of my my research work is to determine the role of the injury microenvironmental cues such as hypoxia and inflammation in modulating the phenotype and the secretory activity of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs).

Following, the main goal will be to focus on the functional characterization of the proteins and extracellular vesicles that compose the secretomes of hMSCs activated by mentioned different stimuli in order to identify key factors/EVs involved in the modulation of the endochondral ossification processes. In vitro and in vivo tests will be performed with selected secretomes in order to validate their effect on angiogenesis, mineralization and cell migration.
